Zombies drink blood - oh sorry, that was cranberry juice!

I borrowed some of the Cranberries' CDs from the library the other day. They're an interesting band, and the music is pretty soothing (for ME anyway, but I can tell ya that most people won't think so).
One of their songs, Zombie, is particularly good. Not just musically, but in the meaning behind the lyrics:

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?

Another mother's breakin'
Heart is taking over.
When the violence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?

The lyrics refer to the wars between Ireland (the band is Irish XD) and England, cos Ireland was wanting to be independent but England wanted to be the rulers of the whole damn UNIVERSE as they have wanted to and tried to for ever and ever, but now they're too small to, so America's taken over.
Anyway, if you ARE interested (which I don't really expect anyone to be ... ) or just bored, here's the Wikipedia articles on the conflict:
Easter Rising
The Troubles (lol, what a name!)

That's it for now ... So if ya REALLY want more to read click on them Wikipedia articles!

>_<' title plz???

I've caught up on some reading now that the holidays have come through.
I looked at a "new" (as in new to me) author, Charles de Lint. The first book I read of his, Little (Grrl) Lost, was ... ok ... you know, one of them. The other one, The Blue Girl, was actually really good. I'm not gonna go look at his other books though. Just leave it at that.
Read some other books. One was That's Why I Wrote This Song. It was ok, but the best part I can say about it was that it mentioned The Living End XDDDDDDDD
Ummmm ... I can't remember the other books I read. But there weren't too many. I haven't read that many books these holidays, actually ...

My feet have been complaining of being cold almost ALL the time lately ... It's not that cold but my feet think so. Maybe I have to knock some sense into them.

Why do SOOOOOO many people spell "conscience" incorrectly? COME ON PEOPLE, IT'S NOT THAT HARD!!!!
Far OUT!

"I'm not alone cos the TV's on yeah ..."

Actually I don't watch that much TV ...

That does NOT MEAN I AM LONELY!

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!

UMMMM ... good question actually. The holidays have gotten to me XD

That's all (for now) folks!!!!!!!!!!

Easter, holidays and song names (funny ones)

Easter has come and
... IS STILL GOING ON
Well, in a certain way - I have yet to get most of my eggs cos I was at some heaps fun camp since Friday. I came back home this arvo.
But chocolate is not the main point of Easter. Just remember that, peoples ...

At the moment I'm trying to figure out what I wanna do with the rest of my holiday. Ummmm ... it's gonna take a while.
Two whole weeks trying to entertain myself ...

Anyway, someone played that Green Day song, that goes "I hope you had the time of your life ..." and we were meant to be guessing what the songs they were playing were and who did them. So someone beats me to it but says that it's "Time of Your Life" by Green Day - so I win cos it's not actually called that and I corrected them. :P=
It's called "Good Riddance". And how funny that makes the rest of the song!

I'm off so I can devote more of my head to trying to figure out what I should do for the next couple of weeks. Suggestions would be helpful!

HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mute was at school today. So happy!
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Anyway, in hockey training this arvo I got taught how to correctly hit a hockey ball. Now IF YOU PLAYED it wouldn't sound so stupid. So all you who are laughing your guts out ...
Anyway for those who DO play - it's AWESOME being able to make the ball go so hard and fast!
(More for those who DON'T PLAY - you poor poor people - in most mixed comps men are NOT allowed to hit the ball)

Meh. Another goalie game just standing around. I was seriously tempted to start doing the Macarena. I should've. Next game.
At least I finally had a good kit today ...

Holidays soon ... wow ...
School seems so timeless.

Not much more to say really, except I missed a trial soccer match (wouldn't have been able to make it either, anyway) and my next hockey games aren't until after the next school term starts D:

6:30 wake-ups on the weekend = EVIL

Today I had to get up at 6:30. ON A SATURDAY!!!!!!!!! It would've been evil, except that it was for a hockey game. I was playing goalie for the B-graders.
LOL. When I got to the Hockey Centre, Rob looks up and goes ... @*&#! Someone had taken the gear home last night! So another kit had to be found, and the one they did was GIANT and missing half the stuff.
But in the end it didn't matter much anyway - the ball only came anywhere near me once, and even then I didn't have to save it or anything. I felt so sorry for the other team, in particular their goalie. Goalie is THE hardest position, cos you got no-one behind you to back you up, you got heapsa pressure on you, you got heapsa stifling and often ill-fitting padding on you ...
My other game, my field game was last night and we won. But I got so confused near the end cos Coach put me as an inner. Of all the positions, put me in probably THE only one (bar one or two) I've never played ...

Anyway, here's a good song. It suits some things, I think. Just not atm - hockey's got me really up and happy.
Save You
I can tell, I can tell how much you hate this
And deep down inside you know it's killing me
I can call, wish you well and try to change this
But nothing I can say would change anything

Where were my senses?
I left them all behind
Why did I turn away?
Away

I wish I could save you
I wish I could say to you
I'm not going nowhere
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright

Didn't mean, didn't mean to leave you stranded
Went away cause I didn't want to face the truth
Reaching out, reach for me
Empty handed
You don't know if I care
You're trying to find the proof

There were times I'd wonder
Could I have eased your pain?
Why did I turn away?
Away

I wish I could save you
I wish I could say to you
I'm not going nowhere
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
Save you
It's gonna be alright
I wish I could say to you

We can pretend nothing's changed
Pretend it's all the same
And there will be no pain
Tonight

It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
Save you
It's gonna be alright
I wish I could say to you
I'm not going nowhere
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
Save you
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright

I probably won't get to enter the Youth Week comp I was planning on cos I don't really have the time to get done what I need to. Damn. I was looking forward to entering.
The same'll probably happen with this comp too: http://www.swf.org.au/writenow-competition/
Although I'd like to enter that one too. Especially cos two of those authors are absoloutely awesome.

Have a great day!

Great day overall today!

XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Yup.
Today's totally gotta be one of the best days I've had in a loooooooooooooong time.
  • Thinking about something :D (minus one or two related things ... :C)
  • Went to Westfield and got a CD I'd given up on EVER finding and it was really cheap so I bought it (gonna listen to it in a sec)
  • Listening to some new music, in particular Kelly Clarkson's new album, which has a really REALLY good song or two on it
  • The schoolwork was OK - strange / disastrous weather patterns, the basics of atoms, WW1, and music prac!
  • Saw a documentary in Geography that I watched years ago at the IMAX theatre in Sydney and it brought back good memories
  • Had a good mind-challenging question that I'm still thinking about slightly, in the back of my mind (but I'm still gonna ask, Lily!)
  • Might be getting another (GREEN) hockey stick! (Anything hockey ... XD)
  • And yeah, just more stuff like that!
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Lists are great sometimes. No need to make sentences that MAKE SENSE.
And heaven knows that can be hard!

Mostly school stuff today

For sport at school next term, I'm gonna do hockey XD Cos hockey was FINALLY put back on!!!! YAY!!!!
Means I will now be at the Hockey Centre for 4 events per week now - training, field game, goalie game and school sport!
LOL my sister's Yr 6 teacher works at the canteen there. And I have a feeling she plays for one of the women's teams, just not my club so I wouldn't know which club it is.

In English today me and Puzzle rewrote most of Romeo and Juliet's "balcony scene" in a modern way and it was sooooooooo fun. I finished the rest of it when I got home. For homework. Cos it's part of a bigger group work project our teacher is making us do for Monday. Me and Puzzle are writing the script and performing it and the other two in our group are doing the research and presentation stuff.

:C Today I was SOOOOOOOOO not in the mood to play Ultimate Frisbee. So I was glad it was so "wet".
I think Dylan was glad too. Cos he got to go through Crystal's iPod. LOL.

I got HEAPS of random CDs from the library today. Some are REALLY good. Like the Thrice one in particular. And I got the All-American Rejects' new album. LOL
"If you see my face, hope it gives you hell ... "
How can you NOT like that song?
I also got a couple of ... STRANGE books as well. Sure, I'm gonna finish them ... but they're sill STRANGE. And I need the novels for English (our teacher makes us read). I was running out. A week ago.

Grrrrrrrrrrr. Our maths teacher thought it would be nice not to assign the last topic of our chapter for homework so we can start the next chapter later. The next chapter is EQUATIONS. WE REALLY WANT TO DO THAT CHAPTER!!!! (Well, I do). It's the best thing in maths, equations.

I got stuff I wanna do, so I'll be off. Bye.
